Spring Break 2014 in Atlantic City

Hi guys!

We would like to share with you our last Spring Break in Atlantic City. When we decided that we wanted to spend Spring Break outside our town, we realized that it requires a lot of organization. After we agreed on the destination the big thing was to find a hotel which was accessible, available and affordable. We started on websites putting "accessible" room in the categories. Once our choice was made we called the hotel to be sure that "accessible" means not only a room with an accessible bathroom but also that the size of the door is wide enough to enter the room with a power wheelchair; moreover the height of bed can be a problem, we need to make sure that it is not too high so the bed transfer can be done. After everything was set up, we had to think about how to get there. Same stuff, if we want to travel by train or bus, we need to make sure the train and bus is accessible and that the stations we had to stop are as well. Travel all planned, the most important was to get all the supplies ready (bladder care, bowel care, wheelchair caushion pump, power wheelchair charger with all the wires) Even if you are the one to prepare all the supplies, it is also good to review it with your companion, care provider etc. because they probably see it from another eye. Finally, when we got done, we just relaxed and enjoyed our trip.

We stayed at the Bally's Hotel, very accessible rooms, corridors, doors and also restaurants and casinos. We were near the Boardwalk and it was easy to go around the city.

It was a great experience from the begining to the end and we didn't face any troubles with accessibility.

We recommend it!
