SCI Video Blog at Disability Pride Walk

The 3rd Annual Disability Pride Walk kicked off in Philadelphia on 21st June 2014. Organized by Liberty Resources in the heart of the city, this event gathered people with all different kinds of disabilities under one umbrella. Hundreds of persons with disabilities, along with their families and friends, participated in the parade, unified with one message: "It’s OK to be who you are, and Philadelphia should be proud of its citizens with disabilities." The walk started at the Liberty Bell and finished at the National Constitution Center.

The event featured the Sick and Sexy band, which performed the National Anthem and some of their mesmerizing singles followed by inspirational speeches from the CEO of Liberty Resources, Tom Earle and film critic Lawrence Carter. Andy Imparato, Jean Searle and Kathy Brill also spoke at the event. The event also featured performances from the EDGE Studio and Johnny Crescendo, and was concluded by a note from Yoshiko Dart, the widow of Justin Dart, who helped to pass the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
